Covid-19

Our health community at the Edmonton Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine wants to be involved in your continued health and wellness journey.

We are in an ever-changing environment and new information is coming in frequently. We encourage everyone to take care of you and yours. Do not feel bad if you want to stay away from travel, social gatherings or family events as these measures will be protective and truly prevent the spread of illness.

We would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to all of our front-line health care workers, 811 operators, lab personnel, first responders and hospital staff. They are doing their very best to keep us safe and in-the know.

Most of our practitioners are offering a remote-type of visit. Either via phone or a video portal. If you are able to give as much notice as possible if you are needing to convert an in-person visit to a remote visit, we would appreciate that greatly. These visits are to be considered if you are ill, if you have been exposed (in close quarters) to someone that has been ill, or are just not sure and want to be extra safe.

At the clinic we have been instituting additional cleaning of hard surfaces in our public and private areas multiple times per day. We will also be supporting our support staff and employees to stay at home if they believe they are ill or have been exposed to someone that has been ill, with financial support for 2 weeks so that they can recover fully.

In light of recent COVID 19 spread, we are looking to keep our patients, clients, practitioners and community safe from the potential illness. We are adopting/adapting Alberta Health Services guidelines in the following way:

We are asking:

1)      If you are currently sick (any symptoms including cough, fever, congestion, shortness of breath, runny nose, body aches and pains) to please re-schedule your appointment, or consider a phone consult for our practitioners that are offering these visits. These visits are: naturopathic, psychology, counselling, and nutrition.

2)      If you have had direct contact with someone who has been displaying the symptoms listed above, please re-schedule your appointment, or look to convert it to a phone consult or video consult when available.

3)      If you have traveled internationally, please consider self-isolating, and if you have any question about whether you should come in or not, please contact us.

For information on how these remote visits will work, please contact out office at 780.756.7020.

4)      If you have any of these symptoms or are wondering if it might be Covid-19, Alberta health services is suggesting that you phone 811 to be directed accordingly. Please note that the wait times are a bit longer at the present time.

Below is a video by AHS of their recommended hand hygiene protocols to limit exposure to COVID-19.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Additionally, our Naturopathic doctors are well-versed in guiding you through some additional immune supportive measures that can be taken and individualized for you and your family.  Our office is not offering/advertising natural “cures” for COVID-19, and does not support any of those claims.

Take care of yourselves, and let us know if we can be of help during this difficult time.
