Dr. Dacyshyn graduated in 2005 from Bastyr University, a school she chose to attend due to its strong focus on science based Naturopathic education. She has been in practice as a Naturopathic doctor in the Edmonton area for 17 years now, growing in her skills and experience in diagnostic evaluation and natural medicines.

She began her pre-medical studies initially to pursue conventional medicine, but quickly realized that it was Naturopathic medicine that would nurture her desire to empower and educate her patients on the powerful principles of preventative medicine. She feels that is truly an honour to do this work, and is inspired by the changes that her patients make. It is a privilege to serve the moms, the kids, the sisters, the brothers, the friends and co-workers of her patients and never takes any of these new meetings for granted.

Her passion in practice is to forge a personal connection with her patients based on a deep respect for the individual in her care and the personal journey they are on, and to get to the heart of their individual health concerns through a comprehensive and informed intake process. She relies on over 17 years of clinical experience to get an extensive history and to make an accurate medical assessment, and may use various testing modalities to elucidate further the causes behind the patient’s health issues. She strives for exceptional and effective patient care and encourages her patients to play an active role in their own personal treatment plan and healing process. Her patients thrive in the warm, compassionate environment that she creates-something that she recognizes as an important element in the doctor/patient equation. She is also enthusiastic about bridging the gap between conventional and Naturopathic medicine, and stays well-informed on both so that she can enjoy helping her patients negotiate the benefits of both.

Dr. Dacyshyn is a well-rounded practitioner with areas of focus that include: digestive disorders such as IBS, Colitis and Crohn’s disease; hormonal issues including PMS, menopause, thyroid, adrenal and male hormone concerns; and mood disorders including depression and anxiety. She is delighted to work with children and adults of all ages.

She has received additional training and certification in the area of  intravenous (IV) therapies, epigenetics, detoxification and hormone therapy and she has successfully completed both written and oral exams in Pharmacology as mandated by the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta.

Being a guest on local television programs such as Breakfast Television and lecturing in and around the city in both community and corporate venues on a variety of topics is something that she has enjoyed.

Dr. Dacyshyn has been on the teaching faculty of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and also the Soul Fitness teacher training team. She does not do any biometric or vega testing in her practice, and prefers to use more specific and informative methods of analysis as listed on the services page.
